Compensation awards in the UK are notoriously low. You will be awarded damages (compensation) for the pain you have suffered as a result of your accident and also an amount for losses including earnings, care costs, physio, car hire and any other quantifiable losses.
The courts in England and Wales utilise the Judges experiences in awarding damages-the amounts are based on past cases (precedent) and The Judicial Studies Board guidelines which are published annually.
The amounts below are examples and should be used as a guide only. Each case is looked at in details and decided on its merits but with regard to the JSB guidelines
